Real Jobs Day

Real Jobs Day is a one-day event annually in October to introduce young high school women in Grade 11 and 12 to potential careers in commercial real estate.

Here is an idea of the types of careers you will find in commercial real estate.

Do you enjoy engaging with people and providing positive customer experiences? A career as a Tenant Services Manager or Community Manager providing services, marketing tenant amenities and establishing positive relationships with tenants might be a good fit.

Are you creative and do you find design inspiration everywhere? Are you a problem solver and enjoy working in a team? A career as a Commercial Interior Designer might be something you want to consider!

Perhaps you have an affinity for building things? Architects are key players in the commercial real estate industry.

Are you good with numbers? Are you inquisitive and have an inclination for problem solving? Property Accountants are integral to the successful management of commercial properties. Or consider working for service providers in the industry such as commercial mortgage companies.

Do you find yourself wondering about how structures are built and are interconnected? Do you enjoy solving problems with technology? In a career as a Construction or Operations or Facility Manager you would be managing the construction or the renovation of a building. You’d use technology to provide safe, efficient, and sustainable workplaces.

REAL Jobs Day is an excellent way for high school students to learn about career opportunities in commercial real estate through a day of activities that include a panel session with industry professionals, fun and engaging activities, and a walk-through of the CF Eaton Centre. Participants will also meet and network with women working in a variety of fields in the commercial real estate sector.

Event Volunteers
For each Real Jobs Day, volunteers from Toronto CREW and local universities assist small groups of students in learning activities that take place at Toronto Metropolitan University and CF Toronto Eaton Centre.

Our next Roal Jobs Day will take place on October 17, 2024 at the Ted Rogers School of Business, Toronto Metropolitan University and CF Toronto Eaton Centre. Event details will be added in August 2024.
